In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a landlord in a remote tribal area of the Philippines has taken back our beloved masjid, leaving an entire community of Muslims, including over 100 recent reverts, stranded without a place for prayer.

Imagine having to pray on muddy roads because you have no other option. That’s the reality we’re facing right now.

Masjids have become easy targets of hate, Losing this mosque is a big blow, especially for our new reverts. We’ve put so much effort into welcoming them to Islam, and without a mosque, it’s going to be hard to keep everyone connected and learning.

Building and maintaining mosques is crucial for us to practice our faith and keep our community strong.

We need to raise $50,000 to build a new mosque. It sounds like a lot, but if each of us contributes, we can make it happen. All we need is 500 generous individuals to donate just $100 each.

The urgency of this situation cannot be overstated. It is an appeal to extend a hand of support, to contribute what we can to this noble cause. It is our shared responsibility to protect and rebuild our masjids,

Let us respond with the generosity and urgency this crisis demands. Together, we can, and we will rebuild our masjid and safeguard the future of Islam in our communities.

Narrated by Ka’b bin Ujrah, The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Salat is clear proof, and Sawm (fasting) is an impregnable shield, and Sadaqah (charity) extinguishes sins just as water extinguishes fire.” [Jami’ at-Tirmidhi].

Wouldn’t you desire this incredible blessing? By extending your sadaqah, you not only support us in building a new mosque but also cleanse your sins, just as water extinguishes fire.

Allah says in the Quran:

“For those who give in charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a noble reward.” 57:18

Our most meaningful transactions occur with Allah (SWT) through virtuous actions done for His sake. Unlike some deeds with fixed rewards, charity has no bounds. Allah conveys that giving charity is like extending Him a loan. The repayment comes in the form of abundant blessings —a reward without a set quantity or limit.

Can there be a better source of blessings?

The Significance of Masjids

Upon arriving in Madinah the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) prioritized the construction of a mosque over building his own house. This signifies that the strength of a Muslim society lies within the shared space of worship within the sacred walls of a mosque.

This mosque is an investment in the future leaders of our ummah. Failure to act now puts us at risk of losing a space that has played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation.

Mosques serve as a source of role models for any young person who may lack them at home. For Muslims, especially the youth not raised in Muslim countries, seeing a masjid is vital because it is the most visible symbol of Islam in their immediate surroundings.

Allah Almighty said:

The mosques are only maintained by those who have faith in Allah and the last day, establish prayer and give charity.”
(Quran 9:18)

Your dedication to this cause leads to a better future for everyone. Act now and let’s build a masjid together!
